Great effort extended to solve problem with my daughter's 2008 Expedition. Rick.... You indicated this wasn't completely solved as yet and we will bring back in every 100 miles for flush as recommended. In researching this a little, granted I'm not an expert, but a torque converter came up as having some of the same problems when going bad, i.e. shuddering or having difficulty accelerating at lower speeds. Do you think this could be any factor ? Thanks for all of your help...... Kelly
Hi Kelly! Yes, we thought of the torque converter as well. We eliminated it as a cause through diagnosis and verify that the issue was related to the timing solenoids and oiling system by test driving it with the solenoids unplugged. The problem went away when those components were not a factor in the system.
